Vijaydesami is celebrated for the victory of Lord Durga Devi. Durga is told as krishna sister. Doing Durga pooja during on the day of vijaydesami gives you and your family prosperity, health, wealth and victory on any work done.
Vijayadashami is observed for different reasons and celebrated differently in various parts of the India. In the Southern, Eastern and Northeaster states of India, Vijayadashami marks the end of Durga Pooja remembering goddess Durgadevi’s victory over the buffalo demon Mahesaura to help restore darama. In the Northern and Western states, the festival is synonymously called Dussehra (also spelled Dasara, Dashahara). In these regions, it marks the end of Rama Lela, and remembers God Lords Rama victory over the Ravan.
